The leader of a gang of rogue builders who toured Devon and preyed on frail pensioners has been jailed for more than three years.

In 22 months he defrauded 21 pensioners out of £108,000, sometimes taking confused and frai customers to the bank to withdraw cash.

Johnny Carroll posed as a reputable roofer and builder with a range of apparently respectable companies. But in reality he was a convicted fraudster, who already had a suspended sentence for ripping off previous customers.

A ROGUE market trader who sold counterfeit clothing carrying top brand names has avoided jail. Ashiq Hussain, 39, sold the tracksuits and other items at Bristol Fruit Market in St Philip's on Sundays, when it becomes a general market. Clothing found in his possession carried fake trademarks for several well-known brands, including Adidas, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Superdry, Henri Lloyd, Moschino, Bench, Dolce and Gabbana, Timberland, Lacoste, G Star, Lyle and Scott and JLS.

Joint work by South West Scambusters and the police have led to two rogue traders who laid shoddy driveways and tricked people from Cornwall to Gloucestershire being found guilty in Bristol Crown Court today (20th March).
